Mount Maunganui Cricket Club Welcomes New Head Coach for the 2023/24 Season

MOUNT MAUNGANUI - The Mount Maunganui Cricket Club is thrilled to announce the signing of Ben Musgrave as the new Head Coach, effective August 21, 2023. With a deep-rooted connection to Mount Maunganui Cricket and a dynamic approach to the game, Ben Musgrave brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the coaching ranks.

Ben Musgrave's journey in cricket spans nine remarkable seasons with the Mount Maunganui Cricket Club. He has not only been a stalwart player but has also captained the Bay of Plenty men's senior team, showcasing his leadership prowess. Additionally, Ben's cricketing voyage includes representing Northern Districts at the under 19 level and participating in numerous club cricket seasons overseas in Australia and the UK.

Known for his positive playing style and a refreshing approach to cricket, Ben Musgrave embarks on his first head coaching role for club cricket. His philosophy centers around fostering enjoyment in the game while instilling a sense of enthusiasm and dynamism within the players.

As the newly appointed Club Coach, Ben Musgrave will take charge of overseeing the coaching program that spans across the entire club, ranging from youth cricket to senior cricket. The club anticipates his dynamic coaching approach will further enhance the skill development and overall cricketing experience of its members.

Club Captain, Kyle Dovey, expressed his excitement about Ben's appointment, stating, "Muz will infuse tremendous energy and value into the role of Club Coach. His extensive cricketing knowledge and global playing experiences equip him to deliver engaging programs and sessions, encompassing both tactical strategies and skill development."

The Mount Maunganui Cricket Club experienced a successful past season, highlighted by their Division 2 title and the coveted Hart Family Trophy. With the addition of Ben Musgrave to the coaching team, the club envisions building upon this success across all levels.
