The Mount Maunganui Cricket Club has a rich history of success, with the Premier Team clinching the Williams Cup title on seven occasions. Last season, the club secured the Hart Family Trophy for the 10th time, a testament to the dedication and skill within the ranks.

The captaincy selection process involves applicants applying and subsequently being appointed by the club's Management Committee. Kyle Dovey, the club captain, expressed his delight in the selection of the new captains. He stated,

"We are very pleased to have four exceptional candidates appointed as captains for their respective teams.

“The continuity provided by three returning captains from last year is an invaluable asset for our teams and the club as a whole. We are equally excited to welcome Ben to the role of Premier captain, building on his previous experience."
